Solid emoji icon in dark mode is "heavy"
What would you like?
Emoji icon in dark mode is really heavy, as it is filled with white, as opposed for the "line only" for the light theme, and is distracting.
Why it would help
Better UI in dark mode.

@CEE could you send me a screenshot of the keyboard in dark mode, and one in light mode too if you can? I went through the code and the emoji key uses the same outline smiley in both modes, only the color changes, so I'm not sure which icon you're seeing as filled. It might be the small smiley in the corner of the comma key. At that size the eyes and mouth merge into one white blob on a dark key.
It would also help to know which theme you're using, and whether Bold Text is on in iOS settings or bold key text is on in EFKey.
Custom theme, light/dark set to auto, no bold text enabled in either keyboard or ios, b424
@CEE the screenshots made it clear. On iOS 27 the system smiley symbol has a separate dark mode version, and in dark mode iOS swaps in the filled one on its own. So the keyboard asked for the outline and got the filled face. I now force the outline in both modes. That covers the emoji key, the small smiley on the comma key, the long-press popup, the Smileys tab in the emoji panel and the Emoji item in the bar menu. It's in build 425, and it will be in 2.1.3 on the App Store.
