Abbreviations

It would be great if abbreviations with periods and/or spaces in between could be learned in a way so that they are swipeable and suggested as a unit.

Very common ones could be part of the dictionary. And if it's not possible to learn from typing (e.g. when there's a space between) we should be able to manually add them to learned words.

Example of common ones:

i.e., e.g., Ph.D., P.S.

Or even if there's just a period at the end, that could be part of the suggested or inserted word as a whole:

etc., et al.

German has a lot and the orthographically correct way would be to have the abbreviated words separated by spaces, but it is also very common to see them without spaces in between:

z. B., u. a., d. h., u. U., ...

And some contractions with only a period at the end:

usw., ggf.
