Show language as a country flag

Show the language as a flag, instead of an abbreviation. As a feature dlag, next to what we have right now.
Why it would help
I am switching a lot between EN and ES. And while typing I see all strange suggestions coming up, until I realize that the keyboard is on the wrong language. Having a flag and seeing something yellow immediately catches my eye, and so I know I’m writing in Spanish, not in English. Sample, see attachments

While the idea is good, countries like India have many official languages that a flag cannot easily represent.

Hi @efko this one is on status "planned". It it's not easy to build. Any ideas on this yet? It's more that it's indeed not country specific. For instance, Belgium doesn't have one language, they either speak French, or Dutch, or both, with their own set of Dutch words. So it can be a Belgian flag but then it's a flag with the added latters NL and/or FR. It goes for all countries where multiple languages are spoken. If it's nowhere implemented like this, eg in gboard, swift key or whatsoever, give yourself a rest, and remove it from the backlog. I will buy myself a new pair of glasses instead
I was focused on other things and haven't really thought about it, but I'm not sure how to do this properly either. I'll close it for now, but I'm sure we'll come up with something down the road.
