Slide from 123 key layer switch delay
When sliding from the 123 key to activate the symbols layer momentarily to select a symbol, the layer only activates after a short delay.
I guess that's by design, since this feature is categorized in the settings under "long-press 123".
But since it's intended to facilitate selecting a symbol quickly, the delay gets in the the way a bit.
Currently (build 422) it seems to switch layers on touch up or when the long press delay expires.
For comparison, native, Gboard and SwiftKey all switch layers as soon as you touch down on the 123 key.
So on touch down would be an option, or touch leave (leaving the the 123 key while sliding) in addition to touch up and delay expiration.

@muleluku the symbols layer now opens the moment you touch 123, no wait. A quick tap still switches to the symbols page like before. Slide onto a symbol and let go and it types it and drops you back on letters. Tapping a number with your other thumb while holding 123 works the same way. If you hold 123 without moving and release, you're back on letters with nothing typed. It'll be in 2.1.3, the next App Store update.
