@starmega05 when you added Spanish, English and Spanish became one pair that types both languages at once, so the swipe had nothing to switch to, and holding the spacebar a little longer turns it into cursor control. To switch between them, open Typing › Languages › Spanish and turn on "Also switch to it on its own". In 2.2.2 the keyboard will tell you this when you swipe, and a tap takes you straight to that switch.
Not sure if it's intentional, the first time swiping over the space bar shows the message once. After that it doesn't seem to ever get show again.
I didn't get a good look at the message itself, it disappeared too quickly, but I think the phrasing in German wasn't quite right.
Yes, the message displays only once. I think it should be displayed every time the swipe happens on the spacebar.
