Issue with deleting a word with an apostrophe

App Store Released Typing & autocorrect English build 435 Normal

Kirby · iOS 27.0 · iPad Pro 13" (M4) · v2.1.3 ·

Steps to reproduce

  1. Type a word and autocorrect inserts an incorrect word that contains an apostrophe. Backspace to try to delete the word and only the letter after the apostrophe is deleted rather than the entire word.

What I expected

When autocorrect shows an incorrect word like "don’t", I expect to backspace to delete the entire word so I can enter the correct one.

What happened instead

Autocorrect displays, say, "don't" which isn’t right. I backspace and only the "t" is deleted, leaving "don' "

Yes reproducible. Regardless of the settings, words with apostrophe are always deleted by letter instead of word when hitting backspace.

@Kirby words with an apostrophe go into the text with a curly ’, but the keyboard remembered the swiped word with a straight ', so backspace didn't recognize it and deleted just the last letter. Fixed in 2.2, the next App Store update: one backspace removes the whole swiped "don't", same as any other word.
