Paste suggestion (be it built in default version or your vetsion) disappears almost immediately when the keyboard activates

App Store Not a bug Typing & autocorrect build 420 Normal

96-saucers-coupler · iOS 27.0 · iPhone Air · v2.1.2 ·

Steps to reproduce

  1. Copy something. Go to type/paste in a text field

What I expected

To be able to paste what’s in the clipboard from the autocorrect /suggestions area

What happened instead

The past suggestion button disappears almost instantaneously (also your keyboard doesn’t work with hide my email suggestions or any first party Apple/iCloud integrations - and autocorrect only predicts words like "words" and "instantaneously" and "integrations" only when you get to the last letter so that’s not working great or there’s not much context absorbing after all.

@96-saucers-coupler the paste chip hides as soon as you type or swipe the first letter, that part is intentional. It also times out after a few seconds on its own. Your clipboard doesn't go anywhere though, you can still paste any time: open the clipboard from the menu icon in the suggestion bar, or just swipe down on the P key, that's the quickest way. Copying something new brings the chip back too.

Hide My Email and the other iCloud suggestions are an iOS limit, not something I can fix: Apple doesn't give third-party keyboards any access to AutoFill, so Gboard and SwiftKey have the same gap. In password fields iOS even switches back to the stock keyboard on its own.

The predictions point is fair, long words currently only complete near the end. That one's on my list.
