default key styles not working correctly
Steps to reproduce
- Go to the menu “style”
- Select key style native
What I expected
Long press hints should be NONE
Long press action icons should be OFF and when enabling it, the key style should switch to “custom”
Language code only while typing should be OFF, and when enabling it, the key style should switch to “custom”
Same goes for suggestion framing
And key shadow.
Same happens for these options for the EFKEY key style
What happened instead
It seems like you can now change the native setting, which shouldn’t be the case. Same goes for EFKEY. Once changing a default setting it should always switch to custom

You meant that this happens
@Ed the framing, language code and key shadow toggles now flip the style to custom the moment you change them. that was the actual bug. they were sitting in that section but weren't counted as part of the native/efkey preset. fixed for build 423.
action icons is a bit different. that toggle belongs to the keyboard setup preset (the native/advanced/custom row on the keyboard tab), not the key style one, so changing it flips that preset to custom instead. so it's already covered, just on the other switch.
on native long-press hints, that one's intentional rather than none. native keeps the hints but fades them out when the keyboard sits idle, so it's clean like the stock keyboard at rest and they come back as you type. so it stays all on purpose.
1 Cannot set native ios layout anymore.
2 It’s on but isn’t active
Rest I’ll test as well

I don’t get it, has quite some issues yesterday eve but native works again. Had some color issues as well this morning, the dark keyboard came up while in ios all was light colored/white @efko I can’t reproduce it anymore
What you’ve built has even resolved. In the videos you see that I couldn’t change back to native lay our anymore but there is Norway that I can reproduce it so I’m fine setting this ticket to fixed
@Ed went through your video frame by frame. native does get set, then about 5 seconds later with nothing touched it flips back to custom and long-press hints jump from all to numbers only. so the preset itself works, something outside that screen writes the old hints value back. I don't know yet which part does it, so build 426 logs exactly who changes it.
on 426: pick native, leave the screen alone for 10 seconds, and if it flips again send me the diagnostics export right away.
the "on but isn't active" one is native colours and font. it only works with the native theme and you're on custom, so it stays greyed out. from 426 (2.1.3 on the App Store) it says that under the toggle.
@Ed saw your later comments, good that native sticks now. the logging stays in 426 anyway, so if it ever flips back, the export will show what did it.
All fine
